About Statz Therapy
Hi, I’m Meena! I’m so excited that you found me.
As a therapist and wellness provider; I believe that social justice is critical, and am dedicated to promoting racial equality and creating safe spaces for those who identify as LGBTQA. I specialize in working with South Asian and African American women (ages 25-50) who are ready to address and treat anxiety, depression, OCD, and/or trauma. I welcome South Asian and BIPOC women who identify as female or non-binary, queer and transmasculine or transmal. My areas of interest include the effects of the immigrant experience and biculturalism on mental health, physical health, and wellness. I actively work towards creating a decolonized practice that addresses inequalities in the mental health system, as well as privilege in the provider-client relationship.
As a woman of color, I offer a unique cultural lens through which I provide therapy. I am the child of Indian immigrants who came to the United States in the 1980s and I consider myself bicultural. I have enjoyed the privilege of working with people who are part of the Indian diaspora and actively participate in counseling and psychology advocacy groups such as the Asian American Psychological Association’s Division on South Asian Americans. As an online-based provider, I currently serve people in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Carolina.
